Port-Au-Prince, Haiti: September 11, 2017 – A five-member delegation team from Haiti, comprising of global BPO industry experts, Investment promotion & facilitation experts, and senior representatives from the Government of Haiti participated in the CX Week Canada 2017 event held at Toronto from August 21-24, 2017. The CX Week Canada event saw participation from contact center leaders, marketers, and customer experience leaders from Canada, US and other parts of the world.

The Haitian delegation was led by The Center for Facilitation of Investments (CFI) and supported by Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Avasant and AHTIC (Haiti ICT Association). At the event, the delegation team showcased the strong potential that Haiti has as a nearshore IT-BPO outsourcing destination. During the four-day event, the Haitian delegation met with several BPO service providers and buyers who had expressed a strong desire to consider Haiti as a potential investment destination for their business expansion plans in the Latin American & Caribbean (LAC) region.

Some of the members from the Haitian delegation was also a part of a roundtable discussion session titled “Nearshore Digital Convergence” on the second day of the event. The session was moderated by Anupam Govil (Partner, Avasant) and focused on the theme of how customer experience has been transforming with the new digital developments in the market, and how service providers and governments in nearshore outsourcing destinations like Haiti are addressing these digital developments.

At the Roundtable session, Jean Ary CEANT (Special Advisor to DG, CFI Haiti) described some of the key investor facilitation initiatives that are currently undertaken by the Government of Haiti to ease the experience of BPO investors to operate in the country. He specifically highlighted the Haiti Digital Smart Services Program, a major BPO sector development initiative, that is currently in the process of being rolled out in the country. Another panel member – Jason Atkins (CEO, 360Incentives), who runs an innovative full service incentives company located in Canada, shared his experience of successfully outsourcing BPO services from Haiti for over three years now.

Haiti’s participation in the CX Week 2017 event is expected to draw more interest among BPO investors in the following months, ahead of the BPO Investor Forum that is planned towards the later part of this year in Haiti.
